Overview

WORMHOOK lets Solana applications invoke registered EVM and IMD hooks and receive verifiable execution receipts.

What WORMHOOK does

A Solana program wants something that lives on an EVM chain: start an IMD research job, contribute to POOL4, rebalance a vault, cast a governance vote. Today that means bridging users, rebuilding the logic on Solana, or running a trusted backend.

WORMHOOK makes it a call:

  1. Your Solana program sends a HookCall naming a registered hook, an action and a payload.
  2. Wormhole carries it as a guardian-signed message.
  3. A gateway on the destination chain verifies it and runs the hook through its adapter.
  4. A HookReceipt goes back to Solana, so your program can act on the outcome on-chain.

What you get

  • A call ID for everything. Every call has a deterministic ID that links the Solana signature, the Wormhole message, the destination transaction and the receipt.
  • Ten observable stages. The explorer shows exactly where a call is and what proves each step.
  • Receipts for failures too. Reverts and expiries come back as receipts, so Solana-side state never hangs.
  • A registry, not a free-for-all. Calls can only reach hooks that are registered, versioned and permissioned.
